Job summary

Vertiv Corporation seeks a Senior Field Engineer to supervise a regional service team, perform advanced electrical fieldwork, and manage projects from planning to billing. You will lead field engineers, coordinate resources, and ensure safety and compliance across installations and commissioning.

The role requires NEC/OSHA/NFPA knowledge, HV/MV experience, strong reporting and client-facing skills, and travel up to several weeks with thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate Engineer BSEE or BSME with six years' experience; OR Graduate of applicable Electrical Technical School or Military equivalent and nine years minimum same or similar work experience.
• High school education or equivalent and ten years minimum same or similar work experience.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards, such as OSHA and NFPA.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train and assist field service engineers and technicians.
• Perform complex troubleshooting, specialized tests, inspections, and appraisals on electrical apparatus and electrical systems.
• Lead large projects requiring specialized skills such as generator acceptance tests and commissioning of larger substations.
• Instrumental in developing tests and inspections in new areas of field services.
• Perform job estimating, proposal preparation, fieldwork, scheduling, reports, and billing.
• Write complete, detailed reports promptly at end of project, using a computer, and accurately process job billing.
• Travel up to several weeks for out-of-town and international assignments.
