Job summary
Veeco Instruments Inc. is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to lead onsite installation, maintenance, and repair of Veeco semiconductor equipment at a major customer site in San Jose, CA.
You will diagnose complex faults, coordinate with customers, and mentor junior engineers to improve service delivery. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field and 8+ years’ experience in semiconductor equipment, with ability to travel domestically and internationally as
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field.
- 8+ years of semiconductor equipment experience; military equivalent considered.
- Experience at customer-site or production environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead installation, upgrade, calibration, testing, warranty service, preventive maintenance, and repair of Veeco equipment at customer sites.
- Diagnose complex malfunctions, identify root causes, implement corrective actions and verify stable performance.
- Coordinate onsite activities and communicate status, risks, and recovery to customers.
- Develop and share new processes and technical solutions to reduce downtime.
- Mentor and train junior field service engineers in troubleshooting and safety practices.
- Document events and actions in Veeco Service Portal and complete follow-ups.
- Maintain safety, IP, confidentiality, travel, and expense compliance.
