Job summary

ZEISS is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to service, install, troubleshoot, and repair highly complex ZEISS equipment at customer sites. You will independently handle difficult technical problems, minimize downtime, and serve as a technical resource for customers and other engineers.

Responsibilities include on-site installations, diagnostics, training, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree from a University of Applied Sciences preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal English; German beneficial for support and training.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, and repair complex ZEISS equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures and propose practical solutions.
• Coordinate complex technical solutions to minimize customer downtime.
• Provide advanced technical support to customers, colleagues, and cross-functional teams.
• Perform installations domestically and internationally as required.
• Train customers and employees on complex equipment and applications.

Education

Associate degree / technical certification

Bachelor's degree preferred

Strong communication in English

Willingness to travel up to 50%
