Job summary

Advanced Technology Services (ATS) is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to support industrial equipment in a Rockford, IL facility. The role focuses on expert break-fix and preventative maintenance, diagnosing complex electrical, mechanical, and control-system issues, and guiding improvements in reliability.

You will work with teams to source parts, install upgrades, and document performance data while upholding strict safety standards in a factory environment.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
• Associates degree with a technical focus and 12 years of related experience in specific industry; or, 15 years of experience in specific industry.
• Possesses comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems.
• Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools, and programming software as appropriate.
• Experience in condition based maintenance techniques, precision mechanical alignments, maintenance of applicable process equipment, and automation integration.
• Robust experience in programmable logic controllers, field device troubleshooting, maintenance of electrical drive and motor systems, and motion control devices.
• Personal Discipline.

Responsibilities

• Perform expert level break-fix and preventative maintenance.
• Identify and source parts, supplies and repair items as necessary.
• Independently perform maintenance per industry standards; create maintenance standards and instructions.
• Direct customer counterparts in maintenance optimization efforts and processes.
• Set up and operate machining operations and perform welding tasks as needed.
• Follow safety policies and guidelines; maintain situational awareness of unsafe conditions.
• Document work in service reports and technical manuals.
• Train and mentor junior technicians and leadership on projects.
• Analyze complex control systems to resolve software/hardware issues.
• Collect equipment performance data and observe trends to make recommendations.
