Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Field Property Adjuster for the Southfield, Michigan area. This remote, full-time role manages moderate to high-value field property claims with travel on short notice, delivering empathetic communication and sound claim decisions.

You will lead investigations, assess coverage, and coordinate with legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents while mentoring junior staff and ensuring regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with claim handling.
• 5–10 years of adjusting experience.
• State adjuster licenses and ongoing education credits.
• Strong negotiation, judgment, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage field property claims, including CAT response.
• Lead investigations, assess coverage, and issue documentation.
• Identify subrogation potential and coordinate recovery efforts.
• Maintain detailed claim records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders and lead meetings.
• Mentor junior adjusters and support training initiatives.
