Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group in Michigan is seeking a Senior Field Property Adjuster to manage high‑value field property claims across Traverse City and the Northern Lower Peninsula. This remote, full‑time role involves field investigations, complex evaluations, and travel on short notice.

You will lead investigations, assess coverage, and drive outcomes with internal teams and external experts. You will mentor junior adjusters, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain detailed claim records

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with claim handling.
• 5–10 years of adjusting experience.
• Strong knowledge of local geography, regulations, and public safety agencies.
• Skilled in negotiation and developing strategies to influence outcomes.
• Clear and effective communication across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage field property claims, including CAT responses.
• Lead investigations, assess coverage, and issue documentation.
• Identify subrogation potential and support recovery.
• Maintain detailed claim records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents.
• Mentor junior adjusters and contribute to training.
• Deliver empathetic, clear communication to claimants.
