Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking a Site Manager to join their Field Operations Team on a field/project-based role. This position requires leading on-site activities, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring safety and schedule adherence across nationwide projects.

You will mentor on-site teams, review drawings, manage procurement, and drive project progress while aligning with Gray’s policies. Travel across the United States is required for project deployment and completion.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of construction experience.
• Experience leading on-site field activities coordinating design, project, and schedule management.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and financial reports.
• Strong people management and leadership abilities.
• Experience on large-scale projects in Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, Automotive, Distribution or Mission Critical.
• Willingness to travel across the United States.
• Visa Sponsorship: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of field activities from start to finish on projects, including safety, quality, schedule, planning, logistics, and subcontractor coordination.
• Maintain and track project schedule; create and maintain 2–3 week lookahead.
• Provide real-time data to PM/Scheduler for schedule maintenance.
• Ensure site safety requirements are met and coach subcontractors on safety.
• Train project team on Gray software (CMO, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Concur, E-Time, GoGray).
• Conduct site and weekly meetings to coordinate subcontractor activities and align with the project schedule.
• Prepare monthly project reports on safety, schedule, subcontractor performance, quality, budget, and customer relations.
• Coordinate with PM team to ensure timely buyout of subcontracts and procurement scheduling.
• Lead, teach, and mentor team members and uphold Gray’s professional standards.
