Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to join our Field Operations Team for field/project-based work. The role involves coordinating schedules, overseeing safety and quality, and supporting on-site activities across multiple projects.

You may travel to sites nationwide as required. Preferred candidates have a two-year degree or equivalent and substantial construction experience, with a track record of leadership and collaboration in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with at least three years of construction experience.
  • Five years of related construction experience with increasing responsibility can replace a degree.
  • Experience in light/heavy industrial sectors, especially food & beverage.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as overall Site Manager during off-rotation for Site Manager.
  • Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval.
  • Assist with project scheduling and cost-related reporting.
  • Coordinate procurement and subcontractor negotiations.
  • Ensure safety and quality standards on site.
  • Manage on-site safety and enforce Gray's safety program.
  • Travel to project sites nationwide as needed.
