Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to join our Field Operations Team on a field/project-based role. You will function as the overall Site Manager during off rotation for the Site Manager, assist in developing scopes of work, and help manage project schedules and self-performed work estimates.

This position requires travel across the United States with projects nationwide; candidates may live anywhere in the USA but must travel to site per Gray travel policy.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with 3 years of construction experience, or 5 years with increasing responsibility.
• Experience within light/heavy industrial sectors, especially food and beverage.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to read and interpret architectural/engineering drawings, reports and contracts.
• MS Project and other scheduling software a plus.
• Self-motivated, capable of working with minimal direction in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Will function as the overall Site Manager during off rotation for the Site Manager.
• Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval.
• Assist in the development and management of project schedule; prepare estimates for self-performed work.
• Depending on project size, may serve as Site Manager for small projects (<$5M).
• Responsible for means and methods of construction; procurement of tools and materials.
• Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion.
• Establish and maintain high safety and quality standards per company/industry norms.
• Meet with the customer and refer changes to SM and PM for disposition.
• Travel nationwide; projects scattered across the United States; reside anywhere in USA.
