Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems seeks a Station Owner for night shifts to lead the assembly sequence and ensure successful completing of steps within the SPARC program.

You will define work-scope, resolve assembly issues, procure necessary tools, and hand off operations to technicians, while providing feedback to improve manufacturability of subsystems and ensuring adherence to vacuum and handling constraints.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to stand, type, stoop, climb or sit for extended periods.
• Required onsite 5 days/week during assembly operations with tools.
• Work in a facility with industrial hazards (heat, cold, noise, fumes, magnets, lead, high voltage, high current, pressure systems, cryogenics).

Responsibilities

• Station owner during night shifts (3p–7p), five nights a week.
• Own and optimize the assembly sequence for the work-station within SPARC.
• Define new scope for tasks from magnet positioning to plasma-facing component alignment.
• Identify and resolve assembly issues, coordinating with Tokamak System design teams.
• Procure or build tools and fixtures needed for upcoming process steps.
• Test, implement, and hand off operations to production technicians.
• Provide design feedback to SPARC subsystems focusing on manufacturability.
• Assist in disposition of non-conformances and implement red-line changes.
• Support hands-on operations during Tokamak Assembly across roles.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet complex vacuum and handling requirements.
