Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Senior Field Mechanical Engineer - Assembly for the SPARC project, onsite in Devens, MA. You will own the night-time assembly station, drive sequence improvements, and ensure tools and fixtures are ready for seamless production.

You will work across assembly, metrology, and design teams to resolve issues and implement changes, guiding technicians through complex tasks.

Qualifications

B.S. in Civil, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
7+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
4+ years overseeing construction, manufacturing, or assembly/integration processes.
4+ years of experience with CAD software.

Responsibilities

Own and manage the nightly assembly work-station, determining acceptable solutions and changes to the sequence.
Proactively procure or design tools and fixtures for upcoming process steps.
Collaborate with SPARC sub-systems, assembly, metrology, and design review teams to ensure manufacturability.
Provide hands-on leadership during Tokamak Assembly operations across varied roles.
Support disposition of non-conformances and release red-line changes to updated sequences.
