Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems in Devens, MA is seeking a Senior Field Mechanical Engineer to own the night-shift assembly of SPARC components. You will lead the circular flow of the assembly sequence, coordinate with the Assembly and Metrology teams, and ensure tools are ready for high-precision work.

You will design or procure tools, provide manufacturing feedback, and support hands-on Tokamak assembly to keep the SPARC project on schedule.

Qualifications

B.S. in Civil, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
7+ years of Mechanical Engineering.
4+ years overseeing an in-progress construction, manufacturing, or assembly/integration process.
4+ years of experience with CAD software.

Responsibilities

Own and oversee the assembly sequence of your work-station, determining and enacting solutions that fit with the SPARC assembly schedule.
Procure or build tools, fixtures, or manipulation equipment for upcoming process steps.
Provide design feedback to SPARC sub-system designs and participate in design reviews for manufacturability.
Assist in disposition of non-conformance issues and release updated assembly sequences.
Support hands-on operations during Tokamak Assembly across different roles.
