Job summary

Sudden Service, Inc. seeks a field service technician to diagnose, repair, and replace worn parts on Taylor equipment at customer sites. You will plan travel with the Service Manager, service diesel and gas engines, and ensure machines run properly.

Overnight travel and on-call rotations are required. Responsibilities include inspecting machines on delivery, performing preventative maintenance, providing tools and parts, and documenting work for billing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience with diesel and/or gas engines preferred.
• Electrical knowledge and ability to read diagrams helpful.

Responsibilities

• Plan effective work and travel schedule with Service Manager to meet customer needs.
• Diagnose malfunctions, repair and/or replace worn parts; install new assemblies.
• Provide tools and arrange facilities to perform repair work at customer sites.
• Inspect and test machines upon delivery, during service intervals, and after repairs.
• Report details (customer name, machine, malfunction, time, mileage) for billing and records.
• Perform preventative maintenance on generator sets, including fluids, belts, exhaust, and testing.
• Promote company image by maintaining professional appearance and a clean service truck.
• Mentor junior technicians and supervise teams on large repair jobs as needed.
