Job summary

Sudden Service, INC (SSI) seeks a skilled field service technician to diagnose and repair diesel/generator equipment at customer sites. You will plan travel, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure machines run reliably after service.

You’ll work with the service manager to prioritize urgent calls, document work, and participate in on-call rotations. A valid license, own tools, and strong customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with diesel and/or gas engines.
• Electrical experience and wiring knowledge.
• Power generation experience a plus.
• Must have own tools and be able to use a multimeter.

Responsibilities

• Consults with Service Manager to plan work and travel, prioritising customer need.
• Diagnoses malfunctions and repairs or replaces worn parts; installs assemblies.
• Provides tools and arranges for facilities for repair work on customer premises.
• Inspects and tests machines after repair to ensure proper function.
• Reports job details and hours for billing and records.
