Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Field Support Technician to provide technical assistance, remote programming, and hands-on support for Simplex Fire Alarm Systems at customer sites.

You will travel to local offices, collaborate with design teams, review drawings, and ensure NFPA standards are correctly applied for each project.

Candidates should have 10+ years of experience, NICET III preferred, and be comfortable working from home with up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of Simplex Fire Alarm Technician/Programming experience.
• Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and Simplex programmers.
• NICET Level III certification is preferred.
• Able to read and interpret NFPA standards and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and travel to local offices to assist with customer sites experiencing difficulties.
• Provide remote support via Teams Q&A and collaboration with remote programming teams.
• Obtain necessary files from local offices to build a complete Simplex Fire Alarm System Program.
• Work with design team to gather drawings and latest submissions for the program.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and contracts.
• Apply NFPA standards to build Fire Alarm System Programs based on building type and features.
• Coordinate with district contracting teams on contracts, scheduling and delivery needs.
• Attend weekly Teams meetings to discuss backlog and urgent projects.
• Upload completed projects to SharePoint and distribute links to local offices.
• Support Local Technicians with programming issues during uploads and deployments.
