Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Simplex Fire Alarm System Technician/Programmer in the Roswell, GA area. The role requires hands-on programming, documentation interpretation, and collaborating with local offices to support fire alarm projects.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of Simplex experience, proficiency with MS Office and Simplex programming tools, and the ability to travel up to 50% while working from home when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of Simplex Fire Alarm Technician/Programming experience.
• Proficient in reading construction drawings and NFPA standards.
• Experience interpreting and applying contracts and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and travel to local offices to assist with customer sites.
• Provide remote support and Q&A across teams.
• Obtain files and drawings to build a complete Simplex Fire Alarm System Program.
• Collaborate with design to acquire CSV files and approvals for programming.
• Read and interpret drawings, specs, and contracts.
• Apply NFPA standards to design fire alarm systems based on building features.
• Coordinate with district contracting teams on schedules and delivery needs.
• Share processes with remote teams via Microsoft Teams.
• Attend weekly meetings to discuss backlog and urgent projects.
• Upload projects to SharePoint and distribute links to Local Offices.
• Assist Local Technicians with programming issues during uploads.
• Promote the team and develop relationships with Local Offices.
