Job summary

Johnson Controls, a global leader in building systems and energy efficiency, seeks a Field Support Technician with extensive Simplex Fire Alarm programming experience. The role involves travel to local offices, remote support via Teams, and collaboration with design and contracting teams to build complete fire alarm systems.

The candidate should be highly experienced (10+ years), proficient in MS Office and Simplex tools, and able to read construction documents while applying NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience: 10+ years Simplex Fire Alarm Technician/Programming Experience.
• Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and Simplex programmers.
• NICET Level III certification is preferred.
• Proficient in interpreting and applying NFPA standards, and in reading and interpreting construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate travel to local offices to assist with customer sites.
• Provide remote support via Microsoft Teams.
• Obtain the necessary files from local offices to build a Simplex Fire Alarm System Program.
• Work with the design team to gather drawings and CSV files for the program.
• Read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and contracts.
• Interpret NFPA standards to build the system based on building type and features.
• Collaborate with district contracting teams on contracts, scheduling, and delivery.
• Share progress in Teams and upload projects to SharePoint for access by locals.
• Assist local technicians with programming issues and promote team relationships.
