Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Field Support Technician/Programmer for Simplex Fire Alarm Systems. You will provide on-site technical assistance, customer support, and remote programming to configure and commission fire alarm panels.

You will coordinate with local offices, read construction docs, apply NFPA standards, and work with the design and remote teams to upload projects and support installation crews. This role requires 10+ years of relevant experience and proficiency in MS Office/Excel.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a Simplex Fire Alarm technician/programmer.
• Motivated self-starter with ability to work from home.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Proficient with MS Office and Simplex programming tools.
• NICET Level III certification preferred.
• Strong ability to read and interpret NFPA standards and construction docs.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical assistance and remote programming for Fire Alarm Systems.
• Coordinate travel to local offices and support customer sites with file retrieval and uploads.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Apply NFPA standards to design and program Fire Alarm systems per building type and hazard class.
