Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Field Support Technician/Programmer to provide on-site and remote support for Simplex Fire Alarm Systems. The role involves coordinating travel to customer sites, collaborating with design and remote programming teams, and ensuring complete system programs are delivered.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in Simplex programming, proficiency in MS Office, and knowledge of NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• Experienced Simplex Fire Alarm System Technician/Programmer.
• Motivated self-starter with ability to work from home.
• Willing to travel up to 50%.
• Minimum 10+ years of Simplex Fire Alarm technician/programming experience.
• Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and Simplex programming tools.
• NICET Level III certification preferred.
• Proficient in interpreting NFPA standards and reading construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate travel to local offices to assist on customer sites.
• Work with design team to obtain files and drawings for the program.
• Read and interpret construction documents and contracts.
• Apply NFPA standards to the fire alarm system design.
• Collaborate with district teams on contracts and schedules.
• Coordinate with Remote Programming Team in Teams.
• Attend weekly Teams meetings to discuss backlog.
• Upload finished projects to SharePoint and share links.
• Help local technicians with programming issues.
• Promote the team and build relationships with local offices.
