Job summary

Gilbane Building Company seeks a Senior General Superintendent II to lead field operations on one or more large projects. This on-site role focuses on safety, budget oversight, schedule adherence, and coordinating multiple trades to deliver high-quality results.

You will mentor teams, implement safety programs, and drive continuous improvement across project teams while building strong client and partner relationships in the Ohio market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 15+ years of experience on $50 million-$100+ million commercial/industrial construction projects or multiple projects in a lead superintendent role.
• OSHA 30-hour certified; STS-C Certification; First Aid/CPR/AED training or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates Gilbane's trade contractors and sub-contractors to meet the approved project schedule.
• Supervises and develops the project team.
• Manages the project budget for general conditions and Next 150/Site Services.
• Develops, documents, and communicates the work plan regarding changes in the field.
• Leads site walks with the owner, architect/engineer, and financial institutions to show progress.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to coordinate trades and anticipate problems.
• Obtains or verifies permits; coordinates inspections with AHJ.
• Acts as safety representative and drives safety culture across all trades.
• Mentors and develops junior project team members; leads superintendent peer group.
• Leads technical trainings and participates in preconstruction needs, including scopes of work and buyout.
