Job summary

Gilbane Building Company seeks a Lead Superintendent to independently manage all field operations on a major project in Ohio. The role is on‑site daily, overseeing safety, schedule, and quality across multiple trades.

You will coordinate with the project team, drive daily huddles, manage reports, and mentor field staff while ensuring compliance with project documents and safety plans. A strong leadership mindset and 7–12 years of relevant experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Require a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management with relevant project leadership experience.
• 7–12 years leading components or whole projects of $30M+ on commercial/industrial sites.
• OSHA 30-hour certified and STS-C certification; first aid training helpful.
• Equivalent education/experience acceptable; strong safety and leadership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day coordination of trades to meet schedule and quality.
• Develops and communicates field work plans; documents changes.
• Maintains contract knowledge to anticipate problems.
• Secures permits and ensures safety compliance in the field.
• Leads contractor meetings and manages daily reports and schedules.
• Plans site logistics and implements contingency plans.
• Collaborates with project team and business development to align goals.
• Trains field engineers and superintendents on project needs and processes.
• Supports buyout, T&M tracking, and scope writing as needed.
• Ensures safety culture and incident-free execution on site.
• Ensures alignment with Gilbane standards and client deliverables.
