Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Principal Consultant to lead senior-level fiber infrastructure engagements in hyperscale data centers. You will serve as the SME for fiber deployment, testing, and remediation, advising clients and guiding cross-functional teams through complex projects.

The role requires hands-on expertise in structured cabling systems, MPO/MTP connectivity, and stringent standards compliance, with a strong emphasis on client relationship management and project delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience supporting fiber infrastructure in hyperscale data center environments.
• Current BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification required.
• Demonstrated experience with high-density fiber design, installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and documentation in large-scale mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to deliver services aligned with company objectives and values.
• Identify and contact potential clients for new engagements.
• Build strong relationships with existing clients for repeat business.
• Maintain frequent client communication and schedule regular visits to ensure satisfaction.
• Lead meetings to determine project scope, budget, and timelines.
• Develop proposals, SOWs, and reports as required.
• Negotiate terms with clients and drive project delivery.
• Provide technical leadership to project engineers and technicians.
• Review drawings, fiber matrices, and test documentation for accuracy.
