Job summary

Computacenter seeks a Principal Consultant who will serve as a senior technical and client-facing expert for complex data center engagements. You will lead hyperscale fiber infrastructure projects, guide structured cabling design, deployment, testing, and QA, and ensure standards compliance across large-scale environments.

The role requires five+ years in hyperscale fiber, a current BICSI RCDD, and the ability to drive project scope, budgets, and timelines with clients.

Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on fiber infrastructure experience in hyperscale data center environments.
• Current BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification required.
• Demonstrated experience with high-density fiber design, installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and documentation in large-scale environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead fiber infrastructure design and deployment for hyperscale data center projects.
• Mentor engineers and technicians; provide technical direction across fiber builds.
• Coordinate with clients to define scope, budgets, and timelines; produce SOWs and proposals.
• Perform fiber testing, validation, and troubleshooting; review test results and resolution plans.
• Review drawings, BOMs, port maps, and as-built records for accuracy and constructability.
• Provide subject-matter expertise in MPO/MTP, LC connectivity, polarity, and loss budgets.
• Ensure compliance with BICSI, TIA, ISO/IEC, and customer standards.
