Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Principal Consultant to lead senior data center engagements across hyperscale fiber infrastructure, structured cabling, deployment, testing, and quality assurance. You will partner with business leaders to define project scope, budgets, and timelines, and maintain strong client relationships.

The role requires an RCDD certification and 5+ years of hands-on experience in hyperscale fiber environments, with proven ability to guide complex deployments and ensure standards

Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience supporting fiber infrastructure in hyperscale data center environments.
• Current BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification required.
• Demonstrated experience with high-density fiber design, installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and documentation in large-scale mission-critical environments.
• Proven ability to lead technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across complex, high-volume fiber environments.
• Ability to develop standards, best practices, installation procedures, testing methodologies, and acceptance criteria for large-scale fiber deployments.
• Ability to interpret data center drawings, fiber matrices, cable schedules, rack elevations, port maps, and test reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with client-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to deliver services aligned with Winning Together values.
• Identify and contact potential clients for new engagements.
• Build strong relationships with existing clients for repeat business.
• Maintain frequent client communication, visit clients, and ensure satisfaction.
• Conduct meetings to determine project scope, budget, and timelines.
• Develop proposals, SOWs, and other reports when required.
• Negotiate project terms and conditions with clients as needed.
• Lead fiber-related design, deployment, testing, commissioning, and remediation activities.
• Review drawings, BOMs, fiber matrices, port maps, test docs, and as-built records for accuracy.
• Provide technical leadership to project engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and customer teams.
