Job summary

Computacenter seeks a Principal Consultant to lead technical and client-facing work in hyperscale data center fiber infrastructure. You will design, deploy, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling, MPO/MTP connectivity, and high-density fiber systems, guiding teams and ensuring standards compliance.

You will oversee project scopes, budgets, and timelines, develop proposals and SOWs, and drive client satisfaction through expert problem solving and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Minimum of five (5) years hands‑on experience supporting fiber infrastructure in hyperscale data center environments.
• Current BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification required.
• Demonstrated experience with high‑density fiber design, installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and documentation in large‑scale mission‑critical environments.
• Proven ability to lead technical troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis across complex, high‑volume fiber environments.
• Ability to develop standards, best practices, installation procedures, testing methodologies, and acceptance criteria for large‑scale fiber deployments.
• Ability to interpret data center drawings, fiber matrices, cable schedules, rack elevations, port maps, and test reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with existing clients for repeat business.
• Maintain frequent client communication and visits to ensure satisfaction.
• Define project scope, budgets, and timelines with clients.
• Develop proposals, SOWs, and reports as required.
• Negotiate project terms and conditions with clients.
• Provide fiber SME guidance for hyperscale data center design, deployment, and remediation.
