Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Principal Consultant to lead senior-level fiber infrastructure engagements in hyperscale data center environments. You will act as a Fiber SME for design, deployment, testing, and remediation, guiding teams and clients through complex cabling architectures.

The role requires deep knowledge of single-mode/multimode systems, MPO/MTP connectivity, and adherence to standards (BICSI, TIA, ISO/IEC).

Qualifications

Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on fiber infrastructure experience in hyperscale data centers.
Current BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification required.
Experience with high-density fiber design, testing, commissioning, and documentation in large-scale environments.
Ability to lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across complex fiber environments.
Ability to develop standards, installation procedures, testing methodologies, and acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities

Partner with business leaders to deliver services aligned with company objectives.
Identify and contact potential clients for new engagements.
Build strong relationships with existing clients for repeat business.
Maintain frequent client communication and regular visits to ensure satisfaction.
Define project scope, budget, and timelines with clients.
Develop SOWs and other reports as needed.
Negotiate terms with clients and drive project profitability.
Provide technical leadership to project engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
Review drawings, BOMs, fiber matrices, port maps, and test documentation for accuracy.
