Job summary

Computacenter seeks a Principal Consultant to lead senior-level fiber infrastructure engagements across hyperscale data centers in the US. You will act as a fiber SME, guiding complex design, deployment, testing, and remediation activities for high-density networks and structured cabling systems.

You will develop standards, review technical specifications, and provide expert guidance on FPOR, MPO/MTP connectivity, and OTDR testing.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of hands-on experience supporting fiber infrastructure in hyperscale data center environments.
• Current BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification is required.
• Experience with high-density fiber design, installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and documentation in large-scale environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead client-facing engagements and provide consulting leadership across data center fiber projects.
• Develop fiber designs and test plans, evaluating MAOP, budgets, and timelines.
• Review drawings, BOMs, fiber matrices, and test documentation for accuracy.
• Provide guidance on MPO/MTP, LC connectivity, polarity, loss budgets, and cable management.
• Coordinate with project engineers, technicians, and subcontractors to drive delivery.
• Support proposals, SOW development, and solution recommendations for data center fiber infrastructure.
