Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Principal Consultant to lead hyperscale data center fiber programs in the United States. You will bring deep expertise in structured cabling, design, deployment, testing, and standards compliance, guiding projects from kickoff to delivery.

This senior role requires strong client engagement, proposal development, and the ability to manage multiple projects. You will mentor engineers and technicians, validate fiber designs, and ensure quality across high-density fiber

Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience supporting fiber infrastructure in hyperscale data center environments.
• Current BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification required.
• Demonstrated experience with high-density fiber design, installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and documentation in large-scale mission-critical environments.
• Proven ability to lead technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across complex, high-volume fiber environments.
• Ability to interpret data center drawings, fiber matrices, cable schedules, rack elevations, port maps, and test reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Partners with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values.
• Identify and contact potential clients for new business engagements.
• Build strong relationships with existing clients for repeat business.
• Maintain frequent client communication, make regular client visits and ensure client satisfaction.
• Conduct meetings with clients and management to determine project scope, budget, and timelines.
• Develop business proposals, SOWs and other reports when required.
• Negotiate project terms and conditions with clients as needed.
• Lead fiber infrastructure design reviews and testing oversight.
