Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to deploy, operate, and maintain AWS- and Kubernetes-based microservices for the Webex for Government environment.

The role focuses on reliability, security, and compliance in a highly regulated setting. You will monitor production systems 24x7, automate provisioning, and collaborate with security, compliance, and engineering teams to mitigate operational risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, engineering, or a related field, plus 7+ years of related experience, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in Go, Java, Python, or a comparable programming language, with production services experience.
• Experience using Git for source control, plus CI/CD pipelines, Linux, distributed systems, observability, and SRE practices.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving highly complex production issues beyond Tier 1/2.
• Experience building containerized apps with Docker and knowledge of Kubernetes in production.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, operate, and maintain resilient AWS and Kubernetes-based microservices for the Webex for Government environment.
• Monitor service health, troubleshoot incidents, and restore service in a 24x7 production environment.
• Automate repeatable operational work and service provisioning to improve safety, efficiency, and consistency.
• Strengthen security and compliance by supporting IAM, logging, hardening, vulnerability remediation, and FedRAMP monitoring.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and compliance teams to identify risks and create runbooks, documentation, and incident reports.
