Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to deploy, operate, and scale AWS and Kubernetes-based infrastructure that supports the Webex for Government environment.

You will monitor health, troubleshoot incidents, and automate repeatable tasks to improve reliability in a 24x7 production setting. You will collaborate with security, compliance, and engineering teams to strengthen platform security, IAM, logging, and FedRAMP monitoring, and you will contribute runbooks and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering with 7+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 4 years.
• Experience writing code in Python, Bash, Go, or equivalent languages.
• Experience with Unix/Linux systems, kernel and system libraries.
• Experience with cloud providers, ideally AWS; IaC with Terraform.
• Experience building and maintaining containerized apps with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, operate, and maintain resilient AWS and Kubernetes-based infrastructure and microservices that support the Webex for Government environment.
• Monitor service health, troubleshoot complex incidents, and restore service quickly in a 24x7 production environment.
• Automate repeatable operational work and infrastructure provisioning to improve safety, efficiency, and consistency.
• Strengthen platform security and compliance by supporting IAM, logging, hardening, vulnerability remediation, and FedRAMP monitoring.
• Collaborate across engineering, security, and compliance teams to identify operational risks and build documentation and runbooks.
