Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a seasoned engineer to deploy, operate, and maintain resilient AWS and Kubernetes‑based infrastructure and microservices for the Webex for Government environment. You will monitor health, troubleshoot incidents, and automate provisioning in a 24x7 production setting.

The role emphasizes security, IAM, logging, vulnerability remediation, and cross‑team collaboration to improve reliability and compliance in a highly regulated government context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field plus 7+ years of experience, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of writing high-quality code in Python, Bash, Go, or equivalent languages.
• Experience with Unix/Linux systems, kernel, system libraries, and client-server protocols.
• Experience with cloud providers, ideally AWS and Infrastructure as Code skills (Terraform).
• Experience building and maintaining containerized applications using Docker and knowledge of multi‑stage Dockerfiles; understanding of scalable microservice architecture.
• Experience with Kubernetes in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, operate, and maintain resilient AWS and Kubernetes-based infrastructure and microservices for Webex for Government.
• Monitor service health, troubleshoot incidents, and restore service in a 24x7 production environment.
• Automate operational work and infrastructure provisioning to improve safety, efficiency, and consistency.
• Strengthen platform security and compliance through IAM, logging, hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
• Collaborate with engineering, security and compliance teams to identify risks and create runbooks and incident reports.
