Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is hiring for a DevOps/Platform Engineer to deploy and operate resilient cloud infrastructure for Webex for Government. You’ll work with AWS, Kubernetes, and IaC to ensure security, reliability, and compliance in a highly regulated environment.

The role emphasizes 24x7 production support, automation, and cross-team collaboration, with hybrid work in RTP, NC or Boxborough, MA. 2–3 days in the office are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of coding with Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience with Unix/Linux, kernels, libraries, and file systems.
• Experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Docker and Kubernetes in production; scalable microservices.
• Knowledge of multi-region, highly available distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, operate, and maintain AWS and Kubernetes-based infrastructure for Webex Gov services.
• Monitor service health and troubleshoot incidents in a 24x7 production environment.
• Automate provisioning and repetitive operational tasks to improve efficiency.
• Strengthen security/compliance including IAM, logging, hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and compliance to build runbooks and incident reports.
