Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to deploy, operate, and maintain AWS and Kubernetes-based infrastructure for Webex for Government.

You will monitor, troubleshoot, and automate in a 24x7 production environment, with a focus on security, compliance, and reliability across multiple teams. The role requires 5+ years of software/DevOps experience, proficiency with Java/Go/Python, and strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD in AWS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, engineering, or related field, plus 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of Software development or automation experience using Java, Go, Python, or a comparable programming language, including testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining code.
• Experience supporting cloud infrastructure, production services, DevOps, platform engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering in AWS.
• Experience with Linux administration and troubleshooting production environments.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, and cloud‑native deployment/troubleshooting, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure‑as‑code/automation.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, operate, and maintain resilient AWS and Kubernetes‑based infrastructure and microservices.
• Monitor service health, troubleshoot incidents, and restore service in a 24x7 production environment.
• Automate repeatable operational work and infrastructure provisioning to improve safety and efficiency.
• Strengthen platform security and compliance with IAM, logging, hardening, and FedRAMP continuous monitoring.
• Collaborate across teams to identify risks, improve reliability, and build runbooks and incident reports.
