Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join the Information Technology department and collaborate with a large federal agency.

You will partner with internal stakeholders and external partners to understand new opportunities, define functional requirements, and translate them into actionable documentation and process maps. The role requires strong communication, risk management, and the ability to work both independently and in teams.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Must pass a Background Investigation and obtain Government security clearance.
• 7+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, and related processes.
• Experience with phase-based and Agile delivery methods.
• Experience with Jira or other Agile tools.
• Able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical users.
• Capable of working in a team and independently.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Familiarity with government projects and policy procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into process maps and technical specs.
• Create documentation including operations concepts, diagrams, and status reports.
• Develop high-level briefings and communications for customers and executives.
• Identify opportunities for service delivery improvements and new technology implementations.
• Collaborate with government and team members to gather information and write manuals and specifications.
• Ensure content is coherent across MS and Atlassian products and various media.
• Manage client expectations and coordinate cross-team dependencies.
• Support continuous improvement and risk management activities.
