Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. in Wichita, KS is seeking a Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Engineer to support aerospace structure analysis.

The role involves performing complex FDT analyses using both hand calculations and computer techniques, collaborating with design and static stress teams to develop high strength-to-weight structures. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of airframe analysis experience, with proficiency in classical and FEM methods, and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

7+ years total experience in analysis with airframe structures, including fatigue and/or damage tolerance.
In-depth knowledge of classical and numerical (Finite Element) stress analysis methods.
Capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment both independently and collectively.

Responsibilities

Autonomously perform complex durability and damage tolerance analyses to verify structural integrity.
Document analyses in support of trade studies or detail drawing sign-off for airframe structure.
Liaise with Design, Static Stress and other Airbus departments to develop optimum design solutions.
Lead in the preparation of complex business and technical material and presentation packages.
Mentor and provide leadership to less experienced structural analysts.
