Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. seeks a Senior Structure Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Engineer to join the Engineering team in Mobile, AL or Wichita, KS.

You will perform fatigue and damage tolerance analyses on airframe structures, employing hand calculations and FE techniques to achieve optimal strength-to-weight designs. You will collaborate with design and static stress colleagues, lead analyses, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to certification deliverables for Airbus products globally.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering (Aero, Civil or Mechanical).
• 13+ years of experience in analysis with airframe structures, including fatigue/damage tolerance.
• Strong knowledge of classical and numerical (FE) stress analysis methods.
• Ability to lead technical teams and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex Fatigue & Damage Tolerance analyses on metallic airframe structures.
• Collaborate with design and static stress teams to develop high strength-to-weight designs.
• Mentor junior analysts and guide signatory processes for project milestones.
• Support certification activities and interactions with regulatory teams.
• Lead major airframe structural analysis efforts on Airbus programs.
