Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. seeks a Senior Structure Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Engineer to join the Engineering department in Mobile, AL or Wichita, KS.

You will perform advanced analyses on airframe structures, collaborating with design and static stress teams to develop strong, lightweight structures. Candidates should have a BS in engineering and at least nine years of experience in fatigue/damage tolerance, plus proficiency in FE methods and tools like CATIA, NASTRAN and PATRAN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Aero, Civil or Mechanical) required.
• Minimum nine years of experience in analysis with airframe structures, including fatigue and damage tolerance.
• Strong knowledge of classical and numerical stress analysis methods (FEA).
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and lead teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously perform complex durability and damage tolerance analyses for airframe structures.
• Lead in preparation of technical materials and presentations for contracts and projects.
• Mentor and provide leadership to less experienced analysts.
• Coordinate with Design and Static Stress to optimize solutions.
• Represent Engineering in discussions with senior external personnel.
