Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. in Wichita, KS is seeking a Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Analysis Engineer to join our Engineering team.

Based in Wichita or Mobile, AL, you will perform FDT analyses on aircraft structures, using classical hand calculations and computer methods, collaborating with design and static stress colleagues. The ideal candidate has a BS in Engineering (Aero, Civil, or Mechanical), at least six years in Static Stress and/or FDT analysis of airframe structures, and strong English

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering (Aero, Civil or Mechanical).
• Minimum six (6) years total experience in Static Stress and/or FDT analysis with airframe structures.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
• Authorized to Work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously perform routine to moderate levels of durability and damage tolerance analyses to verify structural integrity requirements.
• Document analyses in support of trade studies or detail drawing sign-out for airframe structure.
• Collaborate with Static Stress, Design and other Airbus departments to come up with optimum solutions.
• Create and deliver technical documents and presentations with minimal direction.
• Accept broad objectives with agreed deadlines and work independently.
• Effectively communicates issues, solutions, ideas, and status of current work internally and externally.
