Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a motivated security researcher to analyze in-the-wild exploits and document exploitation techniques observed in the wild, focusing on defensive research within the TAC team.

You'll develop tools for automation, produce threat intelligence reports, and collaborate across teams to support exploit mitigation and detection, with opportunities for briefing customers and advancing AI-assisted research.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in exploitation techniques for userspace and kernel vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge of common network service exploitation techniques.
• Solid understanding of Windows and at least one other OS.
• Familiarity with web-based exploitation vectors.
• Collaborative mindset and teamwork.
• Strong reverse engineering toolset (disassemblers, debuggers) and processes.
• Proficiency in Python scripting.
• Ability to leverage AI/Large Language Models to accelerate research and validate findings.
• Experience using AI to improve workflows.
• Ability to present complex analyses clearly in written and visual formats.
• Excellent writing skills are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Implement tracking systems for cross-team adversary tracking.
• Improve capabilities to detect exploits and malicious payloads.
• Identify opportunities to increase visibility of threats and exploits.
• Maintain understanding of exploit internals through reverse engineering.
• Develop tools to automate exploit analysis tasks.
• Create a classification framework for intrusion attribution based on vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to active mitigation efforts with technical expertise.
• Develop host-based and network-based signatures for large-scale hunting and prevention.
• Produce high-quality threat intelligence reports with actionable guidance.
• Brief stakeholders and customers as needed.
