Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a security researcher to analyze exploits observed in the wild, focusing on vulnerability and exploit analysis to support defensive posture. The role requires reverse engineering, Python scripting, and strong writing skills for intelligence reporting.

The position emphasizes collaboration across teams, development of automation for analysis workflows, and the creation of detection signatures for large-scale threat hunting. Remote work with potential travel is offered.

Qualifications

• Exploitation techniques for userspace and kernel-level vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge of common network service exploitation techniques.
• Solid understanding of Windows and other OS platforms.
• Familiarity with web-based exploitation vectors.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• Proficiency with reverse engineering tools and processes.
• Programming/scripting in Python.
• Ability to leverage AI tools for vulnerability research and validation.
• Excellent writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement tracking systems for adversary tracking based on exploitation behavior.
• Improve detection of exploits and payloads using existing data sources.
• Identify new data sources to increase visibility of threats and exploits.
• Reverse engineer exploits to understand inner workings.
• Develop tools to automate exploit analysis tasks.
• Create classification framework for intrusion activity based on vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to mitigation efforts with technical expertise.
• Develop host- and network-based signatures for large-scale hunting and prevention.
• Produce threat intelligence reports with actionable guidance.
• Brief diverse audiences on complex analysis results.
