Job summary

Okaloosa County Inc. is seeking a hands-on maintenance technician to support the Destin Fort Walton Beach Convention Center. You will transport and set up event equipment, manage audio/visual systems, and ensure electrical, HVAC and lighting needs are met per event orders.

You will train co-workers, review event orders for billing, and coordinate repairs with facilities staff. A high school diploma or GED and two years of maintenance experience are required; valid driver's license preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with two years of maintenance experience.
• Experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural maintenance preferred.
• Lead capacity is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Transports event related equipment to and from events.
• Sets up event equipment per diagrams and instructions.
• Maintains and operates AV equipment for presentations as per cues.
• Provides training to co-workers on equipment use.
• Performs post-event breakdowns and coordinates labor as needed.
• Reviews event orders for final billing and updates as needed.
• Suggests equipment upgrades to stay current with technology.
• Operates grounds and maintenance equipment and vehicles.
• Coordinates repairs with Facility & Parks Maintenance Department.
