Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Senior Event Manager to lead multi-day executive programs for a major client. You will own planning, budgeting, and supplier management across hotels, venues, and destination services.

You will supervise onsite teams, support registration and attendee communications in Cvent, and mentor junior planners while coordinating with a dedicated Experience Studio team.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives with full responsibility.
• Managed programs with budgets above $1 million and strong forecasts.
• Portfolio includes multiday executive programs and 500+ attendees.
• Experience as planning lead beside a producer or senior owner.
• Strong hotel and supplier contract skills and negotiations.
• Proficient with Cvent and enterprise collaboration tools.
• Ability to run multiple programs and manage risk early.
• Composure presenting to senior audiences; coaching junior planners.
• CMP is preferred; experience on dedicated client teams or DMC/shopper view.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex programs from kickoff to onsite execution.
• Lead planning with the producer, assessing scope vs cost early.
• Build and manage program budgets from initial estimate to reconciliation.
• Create planning calendars and track dates in client tools.
• Manage hotels, venues, transportation, F&B, and destination partners.
• Coordinate registration, housing, and attendee comms in Cvent.
• Run onsite logistics with teams of ten or more staff.
• Mentor Event Managers, review plans and budgets, and cover peaks.
• Maintain complete planning files and post-program debrief notes.
• Raise risks early with recommendations to producers.
