Job summary

Rivian Automotive in Virginia seeks an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to lead advanced vehicle diagnostics and field operations. You will mentor junior technicians, conduct complex bumper-to-bumper repairs, and provide high-level technical guidance across service centers, customer sites, and remote locations.

The role emphasizes leadership, continuous improvement, and advanced HV/LV diagnostics.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
Graduation from an accredited automotive repair school or vocational program preferred.
Minimum age of 21 years old.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Ability to travel to regional locations or production plants as needed.
Proficient in Windows/Mac environments and work order systems.
Physical capability to perform tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.
State mechanic certifications where required by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics and complex repairs in service centers and in field locations.
Provide high-level diagnostic guidance and remote troubleshooting for issues that don’t require local access.
Coach, mentor, and train junior technicians; lead cross-functional problem solving.
Use specialized diagnostic tools to resolve complex HV/LV faults and network issues.
Conduct road tests to verify repair quality and drive continuous improvement.
Oversee complex parts operations including ordering, receiving, and inventory management.
