Job summary

Rivian is seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Technician in California to serve as a technical expert and leader for complex vehicle repairs and field operations. This role involves occasional remote work, travel to remote locations, and support at production plants to provide advanced field service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; automotive repair school is preferred.
• 5 to 8+ years automotive repair experience with bumper-to-bumper diagnostics.
• 3 to 8+ years hands-on HV (high voltage) systems experience.
• Experience in leadership or supervisory roles preferred.
• Strong continuous improvement, process standardization, and escalation management.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostics & Complex Repairs: bumper-to-bumper diagnostics and repairs at service centers or field sites.
• Technical Support & Remote Troubleshooting: provide high-level guidance and remote diagnostics as needed.
• Leadership & Mentorship: coach and train junior technicians and cross-functional partners.
• Advanced Tools & Methodologies: use diagnostic tools to resolve high-voltage and network faults.
• Quality & Process Standardization: road tests and drive standardization across workflows.
• Parts Operations & Systems: oversee ordering, receiving, inventory, and billing.
• Documentation & Technical Feedback: produce documentation and root-cause analysis for engineering.
• Customer & Cross-Functional Engagement: professional interaction with customers, suppliers, and teams.
