Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to serve as a technical expert and leader for complex vehicle repairs and field operations. The role involves on-site service centers with potential remote work, travel to remote locations, and production plant support to provide advanced field assistance.

The candidate will demonstrate advanced diagnostic skills, mentor junior staff, and lead problem-solving across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; automotive repair school preferred.
• 5–8+ years automotive repair experience; bumper-to-bumper diagnostics.
• HV systems experience and high voltage diagnostics preferred.
• Leadership or mentorship experience is a plus.
• Able to travel to regional locations or production plants as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and complex repairs in service centers and on customer sites.
• Provide high-level diagnostic guidance and remote troubleshooting.
• Coach and mentor junior technicians; lead technical problem-solving.
• Use specialized diagnostic tools to resolve electrical, HV, and network faults.
• Maintain quality road tests and drive continuous improvement in repair workflows.
• Oversee parts operations, inventory management, and billing processes.
• Document technical feedback and root-cause analysis for engineering.
