Job summary

Rivian is seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to serve as a technical leader in supporting complex vehicle repairs and field operations. The role is primarily based at a service center but may require remote work, travel to remote locations, or work at production plants for advanced field support.

You will mentor junior technicians, drive continuous improvement, and tackle complex diagnostic challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8+ years of automotive repair experience with bumper-to-bumper diagnostics.
• 3 to 8+ years working on High Voltage (HV) systems and HV diagnostics.
• Experience in leadership or supervisory roles (e.g., Shop Foreman, Team Lead, mentor).
• Background in continuous improvement and process standardization.
• Proficient in Windows/Mac environments and work order systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics, complex repairs, installations, and inspections in service centers and field settings.
• Provide high-level diagnostic guidance to field service teams and perform remote diagnostics.
• Coach, mentor, and train junior technicians; foster cross-functional collaboration.
• Utilize diagnostic tools (PICO-Scope, PCAN, Kavaser Memorator, breakout boxes) to resolve HV/network faults.
• Conduct road tests to verify repair quality and drive standardization across workflows.
• Oversee parts operations, including ordering, receiving, inventory, and billing.
• Produce high-quality documentation and provide root-cause analysis to leadership.
