Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to serve as a technical leader in supporting complex vehicle repairs and field operations. Based primarily at a service center, this role may involve remote work, travel to remote locations, or working at production plants to provide advanced field support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited automotive repair school or vocational program preferred.
• Minimum age 21.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Ability to travel to regional locations or production plants as needed.
• Proficient in Windows/Mac environments and work order systems.
• Physical ability to perform tasks up to 50 lbs.
• State mechanic certifications where required by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostics & Complex Repairs: perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics, complex repairs, installations, and inspections at service centers and in field settings.
• Technical Support & Remote Troubleshooting: provide high-level guidance and remote diagnostics when possible.
• Leadership & Mentorship: coach and train junior technicians; foster cross-functional collaboration.
• Advanced Tools & Methodologies: use diagnostic tools to resolve complex HV and network faults.
• Quality & Process Standardization: conduct road tests and drive continuous improvement across repair workflows.
• Parts Operations & Systems: manage ordering, receiving, inventory, and billing efficiently.
• Documentation & Technical Feedback: produce documentation and provide root-cause analysis to engineering.
