Layton Construction in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead and refine cost estimates for diverse projects. You will drive accuracy, coordinate with owners and architects, and guide preconstruction activities with a focus on value engineering and lifecycle cost options.

The role requires 7+ years in commercial estimating, expertise with Destini Estimator, BlueBeam, and other leading tools, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining integrity and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction field or equivalent education and experience.
• 7+ years' experience in estimating commercial construction projects (hard-bid, design-build, conceptual).
• Knowledge of construction systems including mechanical/electrical for cost estimates.
• Experience in all design stages: conceptual to construction documents.
• Proficiency with estimating software used by Layton (Destini, BlueBeam, Assemble).
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and supplementary information for projects.
• Read and improve contract documents; offer value-engineering options.
• Perform quantity take-offs, price, and analyze information.
• Coordinate with architects/owners; lead in preconstruction processes.
• Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers; manage pricing inquiries.
• Prepare bid proposals and participate in owner meetings during estimates.
