Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Estimator to manage and assist in compiling estimates for various projects, ensuring cost accuracy and professional estimation communications with Owners.

The role reports to the SBU Executive or Chief Estimator, and involves preconstruction leadership, bid preparation, and coordination with architects and owners to deliver predictable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field or equivalent education and experience.
• Over seven years' experience in estimating commercial construction projects, including hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating.
• Knowledge of all construction systems and disciplines to complete comprehensive cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Prepares estimates and supplementary information for potential projects.
• Reads and analyzes contract documents, offering value-engineering options and life-cycle cost considerations.
• Performs quantity take-offs, pricing, and information analysis to support bids.
• Leads preconstruction efforts and collaborates with Architects and Owners to deliver best practices.
• Solicits bids and quotes from subcontractors, and maintains supplier contacts for projects.
• Attends Owner meetings during estimate development and prepares bid proposals for submittal.
