Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Estimator to manage and assist in compiling estimates for various projects, ensuring cost accuracy and professional responses to Owners’ requirements. The role reports to SBU Executives or the Chief Estimator as directed.

The candidate should have 5+ years in commercial construction estimating, with proficiency across hard-bid, design-build, and concept estimates, and experience with Destini Estimator, BlueBeam, Assemble, Revit and Primavera.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction related field or equivalent education and experience.
• Over five years’ experience in estimating commercial construction projects.
• Experience with hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating.
• Knowledge of construction systems and disciplines to complete cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Prepares estimates and supplementary information for potential projects.
• Reads, understands, and offers improvements to contract documents and adds value options.
• Performs quantity take-offs, prices, and analyzes information.
• Leads preconstruction activities with architects and owners.
• Solicits bids from subcontractors and suppliers and manages pricing inquiries.
